Like I said, the snow-capped peak kept getting my attention. Some unusual rocks in the foreground.... probably the Pinto gneiss http://digital-desert.com/joshua-tree-n ... ad/14.html. There is also some juniper and creosote. In fact, many times when we were hiking it was interesting to see low and high desert plants together.
