I don't know what is growing in the LR picture but it is being protected by plastic... maybe strawberries? Coachella Valley Certified Farmers’ Market customers are lucky to get fresh strawberries which are picked and brought to market either the same day or a day after. Recent studies have shown that strawberries suffer a major loss of vitamin C and polyphenol antioxidants after two days of storage. Though still good to eat, strawberries picked more than two days ago aren’t nearly as nutritious as fresh-picked berries.
Did you know: Strawberries, despite being the most popular “berry” fruit in the world, are technically not “berries” — at least not as far as botanists are concerned.
