We're heading over to the northeast range. There is some stray wheat that has got into the main crop. It is very tall and easy to spot. Brian went out to pick some to show me what it looked like. As you can see, the crop looks pretty good as it continues to ripen.
Back in my day, rye wheat would get into the crop and during the early stages, we would have to go out and hand pick it out. They still have problem with rye but not as bad; now there are other species. I can't remember the name of this one.
