A "positively" managed stand of mixed shortleaf-pitch pine and mostly black oak. Note the stem char from dormant season prescribed burns, and the greatly reduced shrub layer. This is at least the second growing season since the last burn. It is a more open stand, and some areas have grassy clearings. This is surrounding Apple Pie Hill.
