Just when you think nobody has been there before, an old grub axe (mattock) atop Malapais. It was so old that the wooded handle has almost deteriorated. It had the letters JW on it. I wonder what that means?? I found out in another forum that this is called a Pulaski and it’s a hot shots axe probably dropped on one of the fires.
