| no partners | | We were in Wisconsin for a visit. This hike around Geneva Lake peaked my interest and wasn't far from Burlington where we would be visiting. It turned out I would not have time for the 21 miles around the lake. Instead I did a couple sample out and backs in hopes of doing the whole hike on our next visit. A lot of interesting history in the area from Native Americans to Wealthy Chicagoans and such. I thought it was cool that even with the big homes and properties they agreed to leave a hiking path around the whole lake.
I seemed to be between the peak summer activities and a little early for the Fall colors. The footing changed a little from property to property as each owner was responsible for their own section. I enjoyed my sample size hikes and it was fun to pick out my favorite house and landscapes for a pretend summer home. It was an enjoyable outing and it still has me wanting to do the complete trail next time!   |
