| no partners | | | Set out to summit Humphrey's today with a Boy Scout Troop. We had locked in this date before winter hit, and new going in that a summit may not happen. We made it about halfway up the trail towards the summit, before we turned around. We did not have spikes, nor trekking poles, and were starting to slip with nearly every step due to the snow/ice on the trail. It was a beautiful day, and on our hike back the trail did start to get muddy in places. Many other hikers on the trail today also turned around. There were a few that pressed on, and we did not cross paths with again. |
