The drive to the trailhead was on a well graded gravel road. The road got a bit rougher toward the end, but if dry it would be OK for a crossover SUV with decent tires.
The hike was longer than I anticipated. It wasn't all that hard, but the terrain was rough and I had to stop and look at my GPS a number of times to see which way to go.
The first 0.2 miles or so were on a road, but the rest of the hike was what I would call a mix of bushwhacking and scrambling. The bushwhacking was mostly dealing with some sagebrush that would grab at your lower legs.
Views were nice along the way, particularly of the northern White Mountains off to the west.
It was a warm, sunny day for the hike and I went through most of my water. As with most of these obscure Nevada peaks, I did not see anyone else out there. Apparently this one does not make any travel guides, and I doubt of many instagrammers are familiar with it. |
