Had I known, I probably would've skipped my preference of doing a loop hike & done this one both ways. It was steep & very cool. Lots of granite and more blueberries than one could eat in a year! I guess it's a good thing I'm not a fan, otherwise I wouldn't have gotten home today! I realized from the top that I couldn't see my lake from the summit (which I forgot about since you can see the mountain plain & clear from the cottage across the lake!) There used to be an old fire tower on the summit, which is now just 4 cement blocks, and you can see nothing but mountains surrounding you, but no Kezar Lake. We only saw 4 people and 2 dogs on the way up (one guy was smoking a cigarette!! ) and there were a few people on the summit, but they soon cleared out and Tug & I had the place to ourselves. It was quite peaceful & serene! |
