| no partners | | Stroll with dogs and my sister. Went with harnesses, which was a mistake, as I had the bigger one. Drove down to Buffalo Crossing, but didn't know the bridge was out - parked right at the 24/25 junction and just walked across the temporary bridge (closed to vehicular traffic until some time next year).
Went about 3/4 mile down the trail along the creek. OK for a little bit, then quite rocky (which presents more of a challenge when you have an eager dog pulling you). Decided to turn back up and head back up through the vacant campground, which was more pleasant (probably would've headed a bit further downstream had I realized how close we were to the W Fork confluence). At the north end of the campground, headed up a path that went 100 yards or so before petering out (although the hound dogs were convinced it kept going).
Used the old bridge to get back across. Nice area, not too many people around considering which weekend it was. |
