The Union Creek historic district is an area that was developed in the mid-1930s by the CCC near the junction of Union Creek and the Rogue River. Today it features a couple of forest service campgrounds, a small cafe and general store, plus some rustic "resort" cabins. There are a handful of trails that weave through the campground, down the Rogue to the Natural Bridge Trail, up the Rogue to the Rogue Gorge, and also about 4 miles up Union Creek to some small falls and 4 more miles to the PCT.

The campground was still closed and had some deep snow I post-holed through as I explored the area. I would imagine this to be an unpleasant zoo of humanity once the campgrounds open in summer, but it was quite nice for our mid-April visit here.

I've posted photos of all the interpretive signs that explain a lot of the history of the area. It was almost dark so some are a bit grainy and difficult to read.
