Started around 18:00, about 80 degrees out, sunny and a bit humid. Trail was mostly wet with minimal traffic.

Started from Wahkeena and power hiked my way up to Devils Rest (avoided using the Vista turnoff to save time since I was going to be racing the sunset). Then circled back to the Devils Rest/Wahkeena junction using the Foxglove trail. Continued over and down to Multnomah Falls, then ran the return trail back to Wahkeena.

I was careful to pace myself and kept the running to more of a slow jog. Wasn't sure if I would be able to finish since this is my longest run in some time and it was warm out, but it went pretty well. Had some cramping in my left thigh by the time I hit the return trail, but it went away after re-hydrating.

Splits:
00:20 Fairy Falls
00:30 Wahkeena Spring Junction
01:07 Top of Devils Rest
01:20 Junction of Angels Rest/Foxglove
01:51 Back at Devils Junction
02:04 Multnomah Falls/Larch Mtn split
02:30 (approximate) base of Multnomah Falls
02:35:53 Finished at Wahkeena Falls

Attempted to make it from Wahkeena falls to Devils Rest. Had to turn back shortly after turning onto the Devils Rest trail since the snow since the exposure was too much than I was comfortable. A week later there was a search & rescue call for a hiker stuck in the same spot I turned around at.

72 Degrees out. 40% Humidity. Started around 12:30. Sunny at the beginning, partly cloudy by the end. First run in a couple weeks. Lots of traffic on the trail.

Felt sluggish for the first half of the hike. Felt better after Devils Rest, but still didn't push as hard as I could have. Warmer than expected and I should have brought an extra 1/2 liter or so of water. Started feeling some cramps on the downhill approaching the Wahkeena/Devils Rest split. Both calves cramped up really bad going over the Benson Bridge to the point where I had to stop and hold onto the guard rain for a minute until they relaxed enough for me to start moving again. It was a bit embarrassing since there was quite a crowd gathered watching and a couple people asked if I needed help. Will try pre-hydrating with more water next time. Salt-Stick and ZipFiz is not cutting it. Overall 6 minutes slower than my fastest time. I was quicker on the uphill, but lost time going downhill.

Times:
00:06 To base of Wahkeena
00:42 Devils Rest Turn-off
01:13 Top of Devils Rest
01:28 Foxglove Turn-off
01:56 Back at Wahkeena/Devils Rest Split
02:08 Larch Mtn/Multnomah Falls Split
02:16 Top Of Multnomah Falls
2:27:51 To Finish

Still working on getting my left calf back into running condition. Overcast day, 60 degrees out. Followed Wahkeena Trail to Devils Rest using the vista turnoff, then looped back down to the trailhead by using foxglove trail to wind my way down from the main Wahkeena Spring junction. Mileage is my best guess from looking at GPS tracks from previous trips. I can't find any good maps that show the mileage along the foxglove trail...

Calf was a bit stiff, but never actually hurt. Quads were pretty sore from squats, but I worked through it. It was tough to do the trail without running the downhill- can't wait until my leg is 100%.

Splits:
0:42 to Wahkeena/Devils Rest Junction
1:18 to Devils Rest
2:05 to Wahkeena Spring/Wahkeena Junction
2:29:28 finished

Ran from Multnomah Falls to Wahkeena Falls. Up Wahkeena Falls to Devils Rest. Headed west from Devils Rest to the first Foxglove Trail intersection. I followed Foxglove Trail to trail #420, then back over to Multnomah Falls and down to the parking lot to complete a figure 8. Beat my previous time by 30 minutes.

Temp was in the Mid 50s, it was cloudy, and trail was moderately wet/muddy. Not much traffic on the trail until the paved section between Multnomah Falls Overlook and the parking lot. Probably passed about 100 people and could have shaved a couple minutes off the run if I did not have to pause to pass so many people.

Had some EXTREME cramping in both calves/feet right as I reached the top of Multnomah Falls. I had to pause for a moment for a couple to move to the side of the trail, and when I went to take my next steps my legs tensed up and locked into position. Like an extreme charlie horse. I stumbled for a couple of steps until I was able to regain control of my legs (I must have looked drunk) and continued my way down the trail. I could feel my calves (and to a greater extent my toes) tensing with each step I took. I was a bit nervous my legs would seize up and I would fall, but I made it to the bottom okay. This has happened now on several of my most recent longer runs. I thought I pre-hydrated enough and drank enough on trail. I even took 4 SaltStick tablets during the course of the run.

Times were (as best I can remember)
43 mins to Devils Rest/Wahkeena Split
1:17 to Devils Rest
1:30 on trail #420 from foxglove trail
1:53 back at the Wahkeena/Devils rest split again
2:21:18 finished

Started off planning to hike Wahkeena Falls to Devils rest, then returning using foxglove trail, but ended up turning it into a longer run.

I hiked the 3.8 miles to Devils rest in just under 1.5 hours and was feeling pretty good, so I started jogging on the way back. By the time I turned onto foxglove trail I was feeling fantastic- beautiful narrow overgrown trail winding its through overgrown forest and spring flowers. I kept picking up speed and decided to lengthen my run by heading down Multnomah Falls instead of Wahkeena. I don't like using Multnomah Falls in the middle of the day when its crowded with tourists (especially when im running), but most people were respectful today and gave me enough room to pass. My legs started cramping really bad when i hit the Multnomah Falls Parking lot, but it still only took me 6 minutes to make the return to Wahkeena (4 faster than my last run).
