I joined my sons for a walleye fishing trip in South Dakota. On the way home I stopped at Bandelier National Monument that a friend recommended. I spent the night close by and arrived at the visitors center at 8:45. The website said the 'shuttle' was the only way to access the park. If I had arrived earlier, I found that I could have driven into the interior of the park. Another visitor said he called the park phone to get this information that was not on the website. I found it to be a very unique area that gets busy with visitors from Santa Fe. I met many visitors from many areas of the U.S. I was glad I stopped to see this terrific site. There was a 'waterfall' trail as well, but no water this time of year.
