| no partners | | Outstanding state park showcasing the colossal Giant Sequoias. Hit the South Grove trails early for some solitude, then did the River Canyon trail up and back, then the North Grove. Felt tiny and fleeting by the end of the day. |

| no partners | | We meandered through the forest so that I could introduce my husband to the Redwoods. I didn't realize how historical Big Trees was to the conservation of these trees and conservation in general. When I learned about the Mother of the Forest, I was really entranced by the tragedy of the whole thing and the impact it had on the world at large. |
