Just a short jaunt each way from Bull Valley Staging Area down to brunch at the Bull Valley with a new friend. The views of the Carquinez Strait were nice, especially because the sun is low in the south this time of year. The larger chunk of the Carquinez Strait Shoreline to the east looks to have a nice 7.5-mile loop hike, but this section only has about 3+ miles of trails.
We hiked down to the Bull Valley Road House in Port Costa which is why it took us over two and a half hours to hike 3.9 miles. This place has the best breakfast sausage that I've ever had, and it's not even close. We took a longer, more leisurely route back to the trailhead, and saw a nice red-tailed hawk. There was cattle about including a bull without any horns, but he was just chilling. The hills are green and the cows are fat and happy.
