Another hike on the guys trip. We actually swam in the lake which was great. This hike was one of the highlights of the year. Devils Bathtub is one of the best hikes in the central Sierra Nevada.
We camped at Vermillion Campground in a couple of adjacent sites for our large group, played bocce, boozed it, ate too much and had way too much fun.
This general area got burned in the massive Creek Fire which is still active on the north side of Edison Lake. Luckily the fire doesn't seem to be burning up to Devils Bathtub. We left a day early which caused us to miss a hellacious rain storm that rolled into the area right after we left on Sunday afternoon. Totally a good call because the road from Huntington Lake to Edison Lake is mostly very difficult.

This was a loop hike in the Ansel Adams Wilderness near Thomas Edison Lake which is at the end of the Kaiser Pass Road. Getting there is half the fun. We camped there for a few days and got a couple of day hikes in. This was a loop hike of the Devil's Bathtub, Graveyard Cutoff and Goodale Pass Trails. the creek crossings were challenging due to the high water and we went feet wet a couple of times. The mosquitoes were an issue around the creeks as well. The loop came in at 8.5 miles with 1,160 feet of AEG in 3 hours and 55 minutes. The elevation was at a high of 8,700 feet which played a role in our being so tired at the end.
