| no partners | | There are lots of places in the Sierra Nevadas named "Emigrant", this area has an Emigrant Lake, an Emigrant Valley and an Emigrant Pass where according to a historical marker emigrant wagons reached 9400' elevation, the highest point anywhere in the US.
Did a big CCW starting/ending at the Caples Lake dam and traversing across the Kirkwood ski resort with about 5 miles off-trail up to Thimble Peak and back down to gorgeous Emigrant Lake. Wildflowers, melting snowfields and running water everywhere. |
