Good hike with Ippi, Bippi, and Qippi. We only went to the first falls, so the falls were a bit of an anti-climax.

Having started from Phoenix after 9am I successfully stuck in all LA evening traffic jams and reached PCH only about 5pm, so decided that it's not enough time for Solstice Canyon and went to Escondido Canyon.
Starting from the parking lot on Winding Way just north of PCH the so called trail follows Winding Way road itself for 0.8 mi. Another mile is an actual trail that diverts from the road and descends to the creek, crosses it and immediately turns left at the junction. After that it follows the creek upstream crossing it several times and finally reaches the lower tier of the waterfall. If you want to involve in some scrambling and mud sliding, there's a path to the right of the waterfall that leads to the upper tier.
On the way back I explored a short deviation from the main trail in the middle of way and also followed the creek to the probable former trailhead with a picnic table, and then went all along the Winding Way back to PCH.
