| no partners | | We arrived at the TH after finding googling for directions to the trailhead. The TH has restrooms and large parking lot that was full on our departure. The trail through the canopy of forest is pretty well groomed and splits after the first 1/4 mile. From here, the gradual trail is 4.5 miles to the viewing area; the steeper alternative is 3.3 miles to the area where you can view the 640 foot waterfall. This is described as the 6th largest waterfall in the Continental U.S. Near the loft (viewing pod), there is a side trail that leads to the top of the falls.
It was a great hike with lots of smaller waterfalls and creeks flowing into the Feather River basin. Lizards and flowers were abundant making the hike especially beautiful.
The drive from Oroville was about 25 miles through curvy roads. |

Wildflowers Observation Substantial From the photoset you will see a great number of flowers and shrubs I could not identify. A lady along the trail identified the California Indian Pink, but that is the only one I put a name on. |
