Highly recommend that this hike be done in a clockwise fashion beginning at Chimney Rock. Route-finding down into the canyon from Pete's Mesa could be a real challenge otherwise.

After I completed the Teton Crest Trail last year, I said in my write up that I am completely shocked no one on Hike Arizona had ever been there. Again it is so hard to believe no one in this amazing group has ever been to Canyonlands - Maze District. I say that out of complete respect because there are so many outstanding adventures in this group and love reading about your adventures.

Backpacked the Maze District. Truly an amazing area and because it is so difficult to access, gets only a couple thousand visitors a year. I could type for pages but the video below does better than me typing anything, enjoy.

Top 9 adventures:

1. Kalalau Trail – On the Napali Coast of Kauai – Amazing combination of beauty and difficulty with rivers crossings, cliffs and jungle humidity, returning in Jun 2016 and can't wait
2. Teton Crest Trail – Grand Teton NP – Amazing scenery. Never thought anything would get close to Kalalau but loved the Tetons and can't wait to return.
3. Half Dome – Yosemite NP – Did a point to point coming in on Panaroma and down Mist.
4. Grand Canyon R2R- GCNP – So many varitions to R2R, R2R2R or even down SK up BA. Done them all and love them.
5. West Rim, Angels Landing, Observation Point – Zions NP – Beautiful looking down the canyon from Observation Point, amazing scenic points from West Rim and Angel’s Landing is just plain fun.
6. Canyonlands - Maze District - Very difficult to access but absolutely worth the effort.
7. Mt Whitney – Highest Point in lower 48. A great challenge and fun trail
8. Havasupai – Hike is a little on the boring side but the waterfalls are outstanding and fun to play in.
9. Under the Rim Trail – Bryce NP – Great challenge and beautiful but not as much as the ones above.
