I biked and Hiked these trails in the Humbolt State Forest, and this is the best of the Redwoods. If you want to see the postcard pictures, this is the area to do it in. The national park and Ladybird in my opion stunk once you saw this state park. the Campground was cool as well, since you could sleep in the redwoods are some of the camp spots. The Showers are coin op, so bring the quarters. I biked the Ave. of Gaints and the trails along the Hwy, but the Rockerfeller was the best of the best. if you do hike these trails camp at the campsite on the Ave. and make sure when you are Mattole rd going through the redwoods, that you stay on it, until you get to Eureaka. Mattole Rd, is a slice of New Zealand and is a must drive or bike. I biked it and was one of the best rides ever in my life. GAS UP before you go on this rd, for it is like 70 miles.
