The plan was to take the Sheridan Crosscut up to Liberty Bell trail. Depending on how we felt, we'd either check out the view from Mendota Saddle, or head down Liberty Bell trail to make a loop.

Hiked up the road to the switchbacks, where we had seen a trail depart a couple days earlier. This trail was on my gps map, so I assumed this was the Sheridan Crosscut. It seemed appropriately steep for a short while, but then traversed to the west much farther than I expected the Crosscut to. At this point I had better cell service, and was able to see that the actual Sheridan Crosscut was a couple hundred yards farther up Imogene Pass Road. Oh well, I wasn't feeling super spry anyways, and this trail provided some nice views of Telluride, so we just kept going.

After a mile or so, we were on Jud Wiebe trail, and shortly thereafter to the bottom of Liberty Bell. Start up LB for a minute, but I decided since I'd already been up that trail, I'd rather see something new. So we continued back on Jud Wiebe to Epees Park. From there, we got on Deep Creek trail and took that to Mill Creek.

From there, we just headed down the Deep Creek shortcut to Mill Creek road, taking the trail that cuts off the switch back. Then we followed the bike path to the dirt road by the gas station, which cuts across to the other side of the San Miguel River, where we picked up the river trail to complete the loop.

This was a nice easy-ish loop, and between this and the route a couple days earlier, we managed to make a loop about half way around the Telluride box canyon.

After work hike, going clockwise. A few flowers were out, aspens just starting to leaf out, and trail was totally dry. Cornet Creek was raging with snowmelt. Passed a jogger while walking with my normal Bigfoot stride. Great hike, only saw a few other people.

Very nice loop up Jud Wiebe then counter-clockwise on S-H up through Pack Basin and down Mill Creek basin, then return on Deep Creek #418. Parking near the trailhead is very restricted, there are some free lots on the west end of town and a free shuttle.

Great views of Telluride and the surrounding peaks, and some nice aspen groves. Close to town and relatively easy, so it seems to be a popular loop hike. Shauna and I started under dark skies and a light, misting rain, up a muddy trail on a mountainside. We did a counter clockwise loop starting from the trailhead on upper Aspen Street. Stopped for lunch on Cornet Creek, where the sun finally peeked out. I could hear Cornet Falls but could not see it. The trail ends at the Tomboy Road, which we followed back to our vehicle. Nice hike with great scenery.

A nice hike with some intermittent rain. Too much AEG to be real enjoyable. Also, parking is a pain.

A beautiful hike - we started from "the end" - from Oak Street. I thought this felt harder, but it'd been 2yrs since we've hiked JW so who knows. This is a rather strenuous hike - at altitude. But you cross over a stream, bridges, and there is a beautiful meadow area at the summit that is ful of aspen trees and gives a great view of the ski mountain. We love this - it's a must-do every time we visit Telluride!

Great hike that when at the top overlooks the town of Telluride. Great views. We started out our hike on Tomboy street. There is no parking at the trailhead. You need to park along one of the town streets. We were able to find a spot along the dirt road leading up to the trailhead. Bring your insect repellant, lots of bugs.
