| no partners | | Quick getaway to the San Gabriels. I wanted to do Mt Baden-Powell last time i came here but the angeles crest highway was closed due to a huge rock slide.
This is a classic summit in the San Gabes topping out at nearly 9400, i think it's the 4th highest in the range. beautiful forested switchback ascent. tops out on a cool exposed ridgeline heading out to a big open exposed summit.
heavy combination of smoke/haze and some clouds limited distant views quite a bit and gave a kind of weird feel to the hike. got rained on both on the way up and down but no lightning (until the drive out briefly).
