Micah and I were in town running errands and she didn’t remember doing Helen Hunt Falls so we drove up Cheyenne Canyon and did the short little hike to the top. As I was getting water in the information building I grabbed a trail Map and waters (by donation) so we could do another hike. We settled on Mt. Cutler which is now Mt. Cutler Muscoco trail which also summits Muscoco Mountain. 2 for the price of one sounded good. We headed back down canyon and started the hike. We hit Cutler on the way down. Trail is in decent shape steep and slick in places. Apparently Muscoco is a new addition to this trail and worth it as it is significantly higher and has better all around views of city and adjacent canyons. Both have views into 7 falls and occasionally screams of fear and glee could be heard from both peaks as people ziplined through that canyon. Want to do it some time when the kids are older and will enjoy it, but it’s pretty spendy. Hikebot had this page so I put the gps route and everything under Cutler although it’s the lesser attraction with the addition of Muscoco Mountain. I checked the driving directions and the coordinates are on the wrong side of Cheyenne Canyon so hopefully the gps route can help with that. Route scout didn’t want to give me stats and seemed to be having trouble with accuracy on the way up, but did better on the way down. Nice hike great views more traffic, but it is in town and how many places can you get views like this on an in town hike? I think there was some background editing of description and gps analysis while I was posting as this triplog all of sudden was not attached to anything when I looked back at the route there was two with a nicely corrected line where apparently route scout was having difficulties on the way up thanks admin. The route is an out an back with a side trip up Cutler on the way back. I think in general most visitors just do Cutler as it’s shorter and less strenuous. Muscoco is about like Mt. Esther or Camelback in miles/ AEG. Nice little town Hike.
