After driving over South Pass in the clouds, I drove down here as I wanted to go to some Sand Dunes, and it has been many years since I have been to these. It's a long flattish hike to get to the good stuff. I got here on Thursday but the afternoon was gale force winds and spurts of rain so spent a long afternoon in the back of the Toyota reading, eating and napping. Even had some thunder overnight. But the next morning blue skies and the rain made hiking on the sand fast and fun. The Dunes themselves had interesting patterns due to moisture and wind. Also some flowers!, minimal around Death Valley at this time this year. I took a lot of pictures, and enjoyed my Dune time by myself, and I was first foot prints after this storm. Almost felt guilty walking up the ridges. Now to drive south---
