This is an incredible collection of trees with plenty of places to stop and take pictures. Along this trail you will find the tallest and oldest trees in this particular grove (Parson Jones at 310ft tall and Colonel Armstrong - 1,400 years old). There are numerous picnic sites here, bathrooms, and a campground near the top of the mountain around 1,400ft elevation. There is an eight dollar entry fee into the park, although, you could park down the road and walk in if you want to go that route. This area along the Russian River is beautiful with plenty of places to recreate. Hiking, mountain biking, kayaking, tubing, bird watching, you name it! |
