Ran 2 miles in and ran back along the beach to stretch out the legs and check out the aspen. The trail goes all the way around the reservoir and is 15+ miles. There was some prime stands and some still green. 50 degrees at the trailhead at noon so fall is definitely here. Explored Mt. Herman area afterward to find a campsite for next weekend since Sarrah is on call and needs phone service. Surprisingly few people on the trail for the proximity to town.
