Very windy. More significant of an arch than I expected. Really pretty drive through Malapais, and a great excuse to go back to Phoenix through Springerville rather than the 40.

I have took this hike a long time ago. I do remember the trail used to let you go farther up the arch. Now they have shortened the hike to about 1/2 a mile round trip and it only goes to the base of the arch. Very pretty sight, if you are passing by why not take the short trail!
