On my drive back to Phoenix, I came across this area. I decided to try to hike to Achuleta Lake, its around 7 miles one way. I really liked this trail. You are hiking right next to a creek, with small waterfalls. There where a few obstacles on the path. I did have to go over a few fallen trees, and hike over a couple small creeks. The clouds started getting dark, and I started to hear thunder. I decided to turn around at the 10,000ft mark. 3 minutes after turning around, it started to rain and hail. I hurried back to the lake. By the time I got back to the lake, the sun came out with clear skies. I decided to hike around the other side of the lake. About the time I made it to the other side, the weather turned bad again. Rain, hail, and strong winds. It was a cold hike back.
