Day 56. Camped at 1025.9 (15.2)
After resupplying at Kennedy Meadows north, got back on trail at 4:15 with a good climb, steep at times. After the climb descended along the East Fork of the Carson River for several miles before camping.
Day 57. Camped at 1053.4 (27.5)
Had a great day. Terrain was undulating but no terribly difficult climbs. Went overca saddle that was beautiful green views with wild flowers out of the Sound of Music. Heard about trail magic 5 miles ahead at Ebbett's Pass. Saw a hiker, Dingo, I hadn't seen in 700 miles and we raced down to the magic. Hamburgers or pizza, salads, cookies, donuts, drinks, etc. Best trail magic ever! After 1.5 hours, got back on trail for another 4.5 miles before camp.
Day 58. Camped near 1081.7 (28.3)
Another great day on the PCT. Hiked with a few different people today so got to chat more than usual. Just went for miles today. Stopped at Carson Pass and received a soda from the visitor center's volunteers. Made it past the Tahoe Rim Trail junction and camped above Showers Lake where there were lots of bugs.
Day 59. Off trail at 1090.7 (9.0)
Ended up hiking with Conflicted for a good chunk of today. He's quite a chatty guy so there never was a quiet moment. Passed by a campsite I used when hiking the TRT in 2016. I recognized it immediately. Once I reached highway 50, I hitched into South Lake Tahoe for resupply and to pick up a package at the post office. Had complimentary pizza for PCT hikers at Base Camp. Yummy.
