Day 64. Camped near 1220.6 (31.3)
Nice climb up the highway from Sierra City. Felt some raindrops at the trailhead which turned to rain a bit later. Got umbrella out but once the trail left the forest onto the ridge, it got very windy so put on rain gear instead and moved some stuff from front pocket into the bag. At top of climb it got scary windy for a bit. Glad it didn't last long. After that it got sunny and even a bit hot. The PCT was rerouted last year for a section through here. Lots of views of lakes today. Stopped at Pack Saddle campground and emptied my trash. Got to A-Tree spring but no good place left to camp so got water and continued close to a mile farther where I found a nice spot.

Day 65. Camped near 1251.0 (30.4)
The day started out with plenty of water but the sources got farther and fewer between later on and it got hot too. Stopped at Whiskey Spring, 0.3 off trail and loaded up. About halfway in, there was trail magic. I was fed a hamburger, watermelon, lemonade, and chorizo. Yum. Also got water for the next 10 miles or so. Made good use of my umbrella. Long descent to the Middle Fork Feather River. I continued about a mile past it where I camped. It was an extremely buggy site, ugh.

Day 66. To 1267.9 (16.9)
The day started continuing the climb up from the river. Finally reached the top at Lookout Rock; what a view! From there, just cruised to Buck's Summit where I hitched into Quincy for resupply.

Day 67. Camped at 1292.7 (24.8)
After a night in Quincy, I was back on trail at 10:40. The trail climbed up from Buck's Summit then cruised along a ridge for awhile. There was a 4800' descent down to Belden. The trail was very brushy on the descent too. Glad I could fall through the brush intead of pushing through it going up. Got a Mt Dew and icecream in Belden. It was expensive, $8!

PCT SB from SR 70(Belden) To Three Lakes

Not a heavily used section of the Pacific Crest Trail. Saw no one else. Steep climb under heavy forest to nice alpine lakes.

Did this as a self shuttle, hiked one way, mountain bike back. Bikes are not allowed on the PCT. Great fun.

Nice day with little wind. The mosquitos were overwhelming.
