Day 67. Camped at 1292.7 (24.8 )
After icecream and soda, and a couple phone calls, I left Belden and went another 6 or so miles before calling it a day at close to 9. Of course, after the long descent down to the Feather River I got to start the long climb back up from it.

Day 68. Camped at 1323.8 (31.1)
The day started off with a 3300' climb to the 1300 mile mark. From there it was undulating terrain, ending with a 1600' climb up most of Butt Mt. Shortly after that, I reached the PCT midpoint marker! It was late by then so I  continued about a half mile farther to where I could camp. Tough day, lots of climbing.

Day 69. Camped at 1350.3 (26.5)
I had about 7 easy miles to the trailhead at highway 36 where I hitched into Chester. In Chester, I had breakfast then went and resupplied. Got another hitch back to the trail where there was trail magic from a gal from the Yukon who hiked the PCT last year. I finally got back on trail about 1:15. The tread was great and the terrain pretty easy so I banged out the miles and made it all the way to Warner Valley Camp in Lassen NP.

Day 70. Camped near 1374.7 (24.4)
A couple miles out of camp, I took the wrong turn at a junction and ended up walking about 2.4 miles the wrong way before I realized it. With the hike back to trail, I walked about 4.8 extra miles. Once back on trail, I  crossed  Kings Creek and shortly after I saw the pumpkin end of a bear running away. I stopped at Lower Twin Lake, rinsed my shirt and went for a swim. The water felt great. Loaded up on water  as a dry stretch followed through a burn area so it was hot and exposed. Great views of Mt Lassen though. Made it through Lassen Volcanic NP then continued to Old Station where I was hoping to get icecream but the store aleady closed. I ended up going another mile or so before camping.

Day 71. Camped near 1404.4 (29.7)
I visited the Subway, a lava tube, in the morning and got water for the next 8 miles.
I made the short climb up to Hat Creek Rim a notoriously hot and dry section of the PCT. I got lucky as it was overcast most of the day. I stopped for water at Lost Creek. It's about .25 off trail and 400' below. Later I turned a bend and there were bananas and oranges hanging from a tree and coolers filled with cold water and soda. I literally cried when I saw it. I had a banana, orange, and soda. Next stop was at cache 22, a 550 gallon water tank on forest road 22. I left there with 2.5 liters, wish I had 3. Finally dropped off Hat Creek Rim and shortly after found a place to camp. It ended up being very buggy and warm so the bugs were out all night. Didn't have enough water so was thirsty most of the night conserving what I had.

Day 72. Camped near 1418.4 (14.0)
Ran out of water in the morning but didn't have far to go to the next creek. From there went passed some wetlands. Easy 7 miles to the highway where I hitched into Burney for resupply. I hung out in Burney most of the day before heading back to trail; it was hot out. It was about 6:4o when I was on trail and I hiked about 7 miles to very near Burney Falls State Park

Not my favorite section of the Pacific Crest Trail. I enjoyed getting a taste of this section but time spent in Lassen National Park is better spent.

Nice panoramic views from this out and back dayhike of the PCT. Glad I did it but once and done for this section.

An uneventful section of the PCT thru forested areas crossing several areas of private property. Not a popular section for day hikes. I did an out and back.
