Day 83. Camped at 1607.3 (13.3)
After resupplying in Etna and hanging out in the park most of the afternoon, I got a ride back to the trail. I hiked out with two others, Happy and Bandilegs. We passed the 1600 mile mark shortly after we started. The views were hazy in the morning but was much clearer this afternoon when we started. Hiked about 7.6 miles where there was a spring where I got water for the night and tomorrow morning. There was a big burn but I camped on a ridge away from the dead trees. Still, I heard sticks and such falling all night. Pretty sunset through the dead trees.

Day 84. Camped at 1635.9 (28.6)
Lots of great views throughout the day. Lots of ups and downs too, so it was a fairly difficult day. Again there was lots of burn to hike through. It's sad seeing all the dead forest and a bit eerie too. Camped at a saddle 20 miles from Seiad Valley. More burn there so the ground was rocky even though I camped away from the dead trees.

Day 85. Resupply at Seiad Valley 1655.9 (20.0)
Good trail down hill followed by a 6.5 mile fairly level road walk into Seiad Valley made for quick miles. After about a 4700' descent followed by the road walk, I made it into Siead Valley by 1:40 PM, about 7:30 hours after I started this morning. Made it just in time to get a meal at the café as it closes at 2:00. The road walk was hot so I used my umbrella. Lots of signs about the State of Jefferson and no for the Cascade-Siskiyou National Monument. Picked up my resupply and sent a few things home I wasn't using.
