Luna and I cruised up to the peak here after hiking to Gordon Creek Falls and on our way out to Eager.

Oaks have grown too tall to really see anything. Not too much to see out here except some turkeys close to the top that Luna chased of before I could snap a picture.

Today was great 5 members of the Superstition Amateur Radio Club turned out for a group activation of Turkey Peak. We spent about 2 hours operating on the summit made lots of contacts and really just had a great time. We had so much fun we hit a second one on the way home Peak 6340 in the Mazi's

Traveled up with 5 members of the Superstition Amateur Radio Club. We spent a couple hours operating on the summit and we all had a great time.

This was my second of 2 peaks in this area activated for Summits on the Air today. This is an 8 point peak on the Gila region of the W7A (Arizona) association. It was on the warm side today with good views from the summit along with good band conditions as well. I made several contacts in the USA as far away as the east coast. I do have to say that the peak was also swarming with gnats flies and lady bugs. I did sign in to the summit log after my activation was complete snapped a few photos broke the station back down and headed back to the jeep.

I hadn't done Turkey Peak in years, so I figured I'd visit it again while on the way to work in Young. Made the summit in 15 minutes from the road, and was surprised to find a summit register. Hadn't seen that on my last trip. Judging by the long list of names, this little peak sees a fair amount of visitors. Enjoyed the views, then hiked back. I saw two turkey tracks in the mud at the trailhead, which seemed fitting.

Climbed to the top of Turkey Peak, along the Chamberlain Trail between Young and Christopher Creek on the way home from working in Young. This was my last hike before moving away from Payson.
