I set out for what I thought would be an easy trail run around Lake Chabot, but those 1100 feet of climbing came with some short, hard uphill and downhill sections.

It's a really nice lake, and it appears to be a quick escape from the city for many people. Fishing is the most popular activity there and judging by the photos in the marina cafe, there are some monster trout and catfish lurking in Lake Chabot!

Took this 9 mile loop around lake Chabot with the East Bay Casual Hikers. I great semi flat loop around a clear, clean picturesque lake surrounded by euycalyptus forests.
