Took a quick trip to Death Valley in an attempt to escape the post-Thanksgiving shopping hoards in town. There were a lot of people at Death Valley, but they were not getting away from their vehicles (many RVs), so we had the place to ourselves while hiking. We mostly poked around the Hole-in-the-Wall area, hiked up a canyon with some great dry-falls, and then visited the historic rock quarry in the Red Amphitheater where the road officially ends. Really great views down into Death Valley toward Telescope Peak. Driving the 2 miles from Hole-in-the-Wall to the end of the road was extremely adventurous in our 2WD cargo van, but would present no problem in a 4WD vehicle.
