Beautiful, shady hike at Shiloh Ranch Regional Park. Had been trying to get out there with my brother and finally carved out time on the 4th. My dad and other brother joined. The first and last thirds were shaded with ancient oaks and pines, while the middle third was more exposed with views of the Santa Rosa Valley. Saw a few deer and bullfrogs. Great couple hours on the trail!

This was the last day of a quick visit for Cameron's graduation. Wanted to move my legs after gorging myself and before traveling. This is a beautiful area only 5 minutes from my dad's house. The route we took had a few short climbs, but was very mild overall. Most of the trail was shaded with huge, mossy oaks, although we topped-out in a couple places for great views of the wine country. As always, it was great to have some father-son talking time.

Return to NorCal for my grandparents' anniversary. It's amazing how the fog/marine layer burns off by 9 or 10 am here. Always nice hiking with my ol' man!
