I tent camped here for one night. Highs in the 90s, lows probably in the high 60s. It was fairly pleasant as campgrounds go. The facilities are well-kept and clean. The showers are $2, and there is even a Laundromat and a convenience store. My campsite could have used more shade, but the young cottonwoods they have planted are going to help with that eventually. If there were shade structures over the picnic tables it might help quite a bit. There is not a lot of privacy in the campsites, to my way of thinking, but I am very spoiled since I normally do "primitive" camping or backpacking.

I arrived around 2 p.m. and set up my tent in the heat of the day. Then I drove to Stateline boat ramp and launched my kayak. [ photoset ] When I came back the sun was setting, so the temperature became very comfortable. The other campers were mostly foreigners. Most of them appeared to be new to camping. There were large groups of young people somewhere nearby who whooped and hollered a little bit but everyone settled down by bedtime.

I was told it's at 53% now, but also they are letting more water out than usual in order to send it to Lake Mead, which is very, very low right now.

Wire Pass to Middle trail and back. Just an amazing experience. I'll be back.
