This is another short interpretive trail in Theodore Roosevelt National Park. This one climbs steeply from a signed pullout off the park's scenic loop. It tops out at a ridgeline that offers great views of the badlands and the surrounding area. You can see Sentinel Butte and Square Butte to the east near the Montana border. White Butte, North Dakota's highpoint, is to the south and grassland as far as the eye can see stretches to the east.

The trail also points out some local flora including a type of prickly pear cactus that manages to survive the brutal North Dakota winters.
