I believe that the trailhead has been moved from it's original location and I feel that you can add one mile of hiking up top on the flat before you get to the rim drop off. This trail is HORRIBLE! It has not had any proper grooming in so long that there really isn't a trail or a path at all, just a line of cairns to follow. We spent way too much time searching for the trail, back trekking, and plowing thru overgrown brush. We made it about 5 miles in with packs and our feet felt like hamburger due to the rough going. This trail is not so much hiking, but canyoneering. |
