| no partners | | Left Seattle under dark skies but pockets of sunshine started to appear by the time we hit the trailhead. Lots of water in Lower Dalles Falls which was very nice. We made it to the ridge and the first viewpoint, but alas the views were muted by clouds across the valley. We continued on to the second falls and while it was sunny on the ridge, the clouds prevented any views of Mt. Rainier. But it still made for a nice lunch spot. Someone had placed a small soldier and flag on shrub branch on the ridge, very fitting for Memorial Day weekend (see attached pix). |
