I spent a couple of days in Snowbird Utah at the Cliff Lodge with friends. Great hiking in Alpine and subAlpine environments. From the Lodge I hiked through Alta & Albion Basin to Cecret Lake. Cecret Lake is sometimes referred to as Secret Lake. If you have a car, you could drive to the Albion Basin TH and then have about 2 1/2 miles RT to the Lake. I hiked this as an out & back because of time constraints, but you could head up to the saddle between Mount Baldy and Sugarloaf into Mineral Basin up to Hidden Peak Saddle and down Peruvian Gulch.

I spent a couple of days in Snowbird Utah at the Cliff Lodge with friends. Great hiking in Alpine and subAlpine environments. I hiked the Peruvian Gulch Trail to the Peruvian Gulch Summer Road to the Hidden Peak saddle and then to Mount Baldy then on to Sugarloaf. I came back to Hidden Peak and scouted American Fork Twin Peaks. Back to Hidden Peak and then in on the Ridgeline Trail (Cirque Traverse) Beautiful views of the Wasatch Mountains and Peruvian Gulch Canyon, Gad Valley, Mineral Basin and Little Cottonwood Canyon. Mount Baldy is on the North-South ridge separating Snowbird from Alta. The winter snowpack was still melting. Babbling brooks in Peruvian Gulch. And the wildflowers were blooming. I used the rudimentary maps provided by the Snowbird Activity Center. The Wasatch Speedgoats were staging a 50K ultra (about 31 miles and 10,000AEG). The first finisher completed the event in 5hrs 43minutes. 142 runners and I heard that 130 finished.
