| no partners | | Mid morning hike with Velva. After hiking the Ponderosa, we headed over to Acker Park to check it out. Got there a little after 9am. Parked at the Virginia TH. Enough parking for about 10 vehicles, though the park has other areas to park at. The park trail is easy to follow, though it has quite a few “tie-ins”, official and unofficial. In addition to the official “tie-ins” there are a couple of very small adjacent trails that I would consider to be a part of the park. The wife preferred to stay with the main route, so that is what we did. After crossing the bridge, we did the loop clockwise. There were several more benches than what was reported in the trail description and most of the backless benches have been replaced. Enjoyed the pithy nature quotes. No wildlife. But enjoyed the park and the company. Probably added .25 (joking) miles following the Chartes Labyrinth. Supposedly, walking in is good for meditation. No comment. |
