Short drive with absolutely spectacular views of the peaks and all of northern Arizona. There's no lookout tower at the top anymore, but there are now some communications towers and other structures plus a small solar array. You have to walk the last couple hundred yards to get to the actual peak as there's a gate on the road.

Trivia: How many US peaks have the name "Saddle Mountain"? (And is it more or less than Sycamore Creek or Bear Canyon?) :roll:

Absolutely stunning views, perfect weather, great company...best of all I got to give 9L a heart attack on the drive back down...tiny Hippy biiiiig blue truck!

They need more "Keep Out" signs up on top of the mountain...
