Sadly, this year, we are staying away from other people on account of COVID, so I went out solo today. Though Steve was absent and I missed his camaraderie, I still had a fun time on the trail.
I parked just off Agua Caliente Rd, and though my Jeep could have managed the road, I wanted the exercise. I didn't have a destination in mind, though I knew Webb Mtn was ahead of me. The road took me to the base of the west side of the mountain, to an old abandoned mining area. I skirted south following the mining roads and foot paths until they petered out. At that point, I looked up and started picking out a route. This was probably the tough way to go, but it was a quick climb up to the ridge, and then south to the peak. Coming down, I followed the ridgeline farther north and dropped down to the road, and of course, this is what I should have done in the first place.
Great little peak. I wish I'd had a geocache container to plant on top. Maybe next time. |
