On my second day in Banff, I hiked the Johnston Canyon Trail with my friend Emilie. We met the previous day near Lake Louise and she had a few hours to kill before driving back to Vancouver. She agreed to meet and we had a nice time making the hike. Johnston Canyon is truly special as it's lined with waterfalls. We checked out the lower falls and the upper falls and continued on all the way to the Inkpots. They were nice and are worth seeing if you have an extra hour or two. We returned to the trailhead and said our goodbyes. I headed back to the Hostel and then into Yoho later in the day.

Second day of our Banff/Jasper trip. Definitely busy. Johnston Canyon from start to Lower Fall to Upper Fall was like a zoo! Once we passed the Upper Fall, the trail continued on toward Ink Pots and the crowds thinned out significantly. The Ink Pots were pretty neat to see with them being right next to each other and yet having different colors.

I hiked this with my two Canadian cousins from the trailhead, stopping at the Lower Falls, and ending at the Upper Falls before heading back down. Slight drizzle most of the way but we had good rain gear and thoroughly enjoyed the scenery and workout. The waterfalls are beautiful, as are as always the spectacular scenes created by the Canadian Rockies in the first place.
