| no partners | | Great canyon! Because one of our group had to go to work, we only had time for the upper technical section, but it was a ton of fun. Good rappels through the beautiful fluted water course. It was so hot out, that the dunks into icy cold potholes felt good - even to me Saw loads of tiny red spotted toads, a good number of overly friendly butterflies, and a few canyon wrens for good measure.
The exit route up and out after our last rappel required some low class 5 climbing in a couple spots. Nothing that the experienced canyoneer shouldn't be able to handle, but a pass-up of packs proved helpful.
Partly because of the on-going bolting vs bolt-chopping war going on in this canyon, members of your party need to be equipped and prepared to place or replace anchors of many different styles using sometimes marginal anchor points. There are constant changes to the anchors, so do not go into this canyon blindly following any beta source. |
