This was a cool little hike. I had been looking forward to my annual trip to the Trinity Alps for months, and my plan was to do big hikes on Friday and Sunday with Saturday as a rest day. Mama Nature decided to bless us with rain on Friday, and not wanting my passenger sedan to get stuck on a dirt road in far northern California, I decided to keep it local. This meant I only had Saturday to do a big hike which turned out to be Swift Creek to Landers Lake [ triplog ] .

Consequently I was in no shape to do a big hike on Sunday, thus canceling my second big hike in the Russian Wilderness. Instead I decided to take a nice mountain drive, and squeeze in a little hike. The views really are cool here, and who doesn't enjoy a diverse conifer forest?
