This was my second time hiking this trail. As it was not in HAZ when I hiked it I tried to gather trail data so I could accurately describe it for future users. The idea for this hike was gotten from the Lake Havasu website and the information they provided was generic at best. It took me two hikes before I felt comfortable enough to say that I was indeed doing the Pittsburg Mine Trail. The mines, themselves are nothing to write home about but the wash portion of the hike is pleasant providing several easily negotiated dry waterfalls to climb and nice rock wash walls to admire. This only about a mile of the hike. The other mile involves open desert, powerlines and ATV roads. Not nearly so pleasant. But still, I got a nice view of Lake Havasu and got to hike in an area seldom visited by hikers...at least, HAZ hikers. They say that big born sheep roam the mountains and foothills. Didn't see any wildlife today. My wife and I did see about 10 ATV'ers using the multiple roads that criss cross the desert. Also met a couple of snowbirds from Canada who had hiked the wash numerous times.
