This would be our final hike of this 4 day trip. It was an easy hike to a couple ruins and petroglyphs/hand paintings.

Great ruins, had the place to ourselves.

Hike #4 of 10 of our Spring 2014 Utah trip.
There is no specific trail to the Comb Ridge Overlook or the cliff dwellings out there, so we took advantage of the information we gathered while on our 'Cave' hike this morning and simply made our own path until far enough west to drop into the canyon and follow it all the way to the western edge of The Comb.

First we took in the awesome views at the Overlook then climbed up to explore the cliff dwellings. Although this ruin was about as far from Butler Wash as you can get on The Comb, it was in worse shape than the more popular destinations, but I attribute most of that fact to the instability of the ceiling of the large cave. It appears there has been quite a bit of reasonably recent rock-fall, which of course destroys the walls directly beneath.

In keeping with our wish to cover as much ground as possible in our abbreviated 2 half-days/3 full-days trip, we managed to find our way to the Split-Level ruins on the return leg.

I'll probably post most of the 49 photos from this hike here on HAZ.
